Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Welcome to Paul Bensel Jewelers' FAQ page. Here you'll find answers to common questions about our orders, policies, and services. We're a family-run, service-oriented jeweler committed to quality craftsmanship, customization, and in-house expertise. If you don't see your question here, please reach out – we're happy to help.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover) as well as cash and debit cards for in-store purchases. For online or phone orders, we also support secure electronic payment options and Affirm. We provide a convenient layaway program (see below) for interest-free payment plans. All transactions are processed securely and in US Dollars. Applicable sales tax will be added to orders shipped within Arizona (or as required by law for other destinations).
You can place an order with us either in person at our Yuma, AZ showroom, over the phone, or through our website's secure checkout. Our staff and GIA-trained jewelry professionals are available to assist if you need help selecting a product or completing your order. If you have questions while ordering or prefer personal guidance, feel free to call us during business hours – we pride ourselves on friendly, knowledgeable service at every step.
Yes. For custom-designed jewelry, we require a 30% non-refundable deposit before beginning design and production. Similarly, for special orders (any non-inventory items we order or alter at your request), a 50% deposit is required at the time of order. Once production on a custom or special-order piece has begun, cancellations are generally not possible. In the rare case that a special order cancellation is allowed, the deposit can be applied as a store credit. The remaining balance for custom work is due upon completion/pickup – your final payment signifies your full satisfaction with the finished piece.
Yes. All pricing on our website and in our store is listed in U.S. Dollars (USD). If you are purchasing from outside the United States, please note that your credit card company or bank will handle any necessary currency conversion. We currently ship primarily within the U.S., so all transactions will be processed in USD.
Absolutely. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures to protect your personal information. Our online checkout is PCI-compliant and encrypted to safeguard your credit card data. We never store full credit card numbers on our servers, and we do not share your personal information with third parties except as needed to process your payment. You can shop with confidence knowing that we prioritize your privacy and security.
Yes, we proudly offer a layaway program to make it easier for you to secure that perfect piece. Our layaway terms are straightforward: a minimum 30% down payment is required to put an item on layaway, and we'll hold the item for up to 90 days. The 30% down is a non-refundable deposit that goes toward the purchase. We ask that you make some payment every 30 days (you can decide the amounts and frequency, as long as some payment is made monthly). You can pay in installments that fit your budget – there's no interest or fees as long as you abide by the schedule. Once the item is fully paid within the 90-day period, you can take it home (or we can ship it to you if you're not local). We understand sometimes plans change, so if you cannot complete the payments, here's what happens: if you cancel or fail to pay within 90 days, the item will be returned to stock, and a restocking fee of 30% (the initial deposit) will apply. In other words, we keep the 30% as a restocking fee, but any additional payments beyond that will be returned to you as store credit (note: store credit, not a cash refund). This policy is to compensate for the item being off the market. Also, layaway is not available on certain items: custom orders, special orders, clearance, or discounted items cannot be placed on layaway (any payments made on those via layaway would be forfeited if not completed). We find that 90 days and 30% down suits most people, but if you need a slightly longer layaway or different arrangement, talk to us – since we're family-run, we try to be flexible when it's reasonable and makes sense. Our layaway program is a popular choice, especially around the holidays or for big life events, as it allows you to lock in a piece and pay at your own pace without interest.
*In-Store Only
Our standard layaway duration is 90 days. In general, we encourage completion in that timeframe. However, we know life happens – if you need a little extra time, please communicate with us before the 90 days are up. We may grant a short extension on a case-by-case basis, typically requiring an additional payment. This isn't guaranteed, but we do our best to work with customers who have shown effort in making payments. If an extension is not arranged and the 90 days pass without full payment, the layaway will be canceled, and the item returned to stock as noted above. It's always better to talk to us; we're friendly, understand that circumstances change, and are willing to be as accommodating as we can. We want you to be able to obtain your desired jewelry, so don't hesitate to discuss options if you're concerned about the timeline.
Yes, we provide multiple financing and payment options to make your purchase as convenient as possible. Here's what's available:
Synchrony Financing: We offer financing through Synchrony for qualifying purchases. During promotional periods, you may receive 6 months deferred interest (for purchases of $500 or more) or 12 months deferred interest (for purchases of $1,000 or more). This allows you to take your jewelry home immediately while making manageable payments over time.
Buy Now, Pay Later: Affirm is available for online purchases, offering flexible payment options that let you spread your purchase across multiple installments. This option provides immediate checkout convenience with transparent payment schedules.
Traditional Layaway: Our classic layaway program remains available as an interest-free way to pay over time. While you can't take the item until it's paid in full, layaway involves no credit checks, no interest charges, and allows you to secure your piece while making convenient payments at your own pace.
Additional Payment Flexibility: Multiple Payment Methods: We can split payments across multiple credit cards if that helps with your purchase planning or rewards optimization.
Personal Credit Options: Many customers use credit cards, which may offer installment plans, rewards, or promotional rates that work well for their specific financial situation.
The Right Option for You: Each payment method has its benefits—immediate possession with financing, flexible online payments with BNPL, or interest-free security with layaway. Our team is happy to discuss which option works best for your specific purchase and financial preferences.
All financing options are subject to credit approval, and terms may vary based on promotional periods and qualifying purchase amounts.
Yes, we do! Paul Bensel Jewelers gift cards are a wonderful option when you want to give the gift of choice. We offer two convenient formats to suit your gifting needs:
Physical Gift Cards are available for purchase in-store and can be loaded with any amount you choose. They come in an elegant envelope ready for gifting and may be used for in-store purchases only. These traditional cards are perfect when you want to encourage the recipient to visit our showroom and experience our personalized service firsthand.
E-Gift Cards are available through our website and can be emailed instantly—ideal for last-minute gifts or when distance is a factor. These digital cards may be used for online purchases only, making them convenient for browsing and purchasing from our curated online collection.
Important Usage Guidelines:
- E-gift cards cannot be redeemed in-store
- Physical gift cards cannot be used for online purchases
Both types of gift cards never expire and are treated like cash in the transaction. Gift cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for cash value, except as required by law in certain jurisdictions for small remaining balances.
We maintain a comprehensive record of all gift card balances, so if you ever lose a physical gift card, simply visit our store with your ID, and we can look it up for you—just another way we take care of our customers.
A gift card from Paul Bensel Jewelers is essentially giving someone the freedom to pick something they truly love, backed by our family's four decades of quality craftsmanship and personalized service.
We offer free insured shipping on every order as a complimentary service to our customers. All jewelry is shipped via reputable carriers (such as FedEx) and fully insured for its full value during transit. For security, we require an adult signature upon delivery and do not ship to P.O. boxes. Standard shipping is free; expedited shipping options (overnight or Saturday delivery) may be available for an additional charge – contact us if you have a specific delivery need.
Delivery times vary depending on the item. In-stock items (ready-made jewelry) typically ship within 1-3 business days. Custom-designed pieces will take longer (usually 4–8 weeks for creation, plus shipping time) since we craft them to your specifications. We will provide an expected delivery date when you place your order, and we strive to have all orders arrive by or before that date. You'll receive an email with tracking information as soon as your package ships. Keep in mind that unforeseen delays (weather, carrier issues, etc.) are beyond our control, but we will assist you in tracking your package and communicating any updates.
Currently, our website supports orders within the United States. For international inquiries, please contact us directly – we may accommodate international shipping on a case-by-case basis. The customer is responsible for any applicable customs duties or import taxes on international shipments. We will ensure your jewelry is securely packaged and documented for customs. Note that shipping times may be longer for international deliveries, and we cannot guarantee transit times once the package is in customs. We recommend checking with your local customs office about import regulations if you are outside the U.S.
All orders are packaged in our signature presentation boxes to protect your jewelry and add an elegant touch for gift-giving. We use discrete outer packaging with no obvious jewelry-related markings, so if the purchase is a surprise, it will stay that way. Each shipment is fully insured and includes any necessary documentation (appraisal or diamond report, if applicable) inside the box.
Yes. If you need to keep a delivery secret (for a surprise engagement, for example) or require a specific delivery date, let us know. We can arrange to hold the package at a FedEx location for pickup or delay delivery until a particular date. Saturday delivery is available to many locations for an extra fee. Our goal is to accommodate reasonable requests to ensure your delivery is convenient and worry-free. Just contact our team as soon as you place the order (or note your request during online checkout), and we'll make the arrangements.
Because we fully insure every shipment, you can rest assured that you're protected. If a package appears to be lost in transit or arrives damaged/tampered with, notify us immediately (within 5 days of receiving your tracking information for a lost package, or upon receipt of a damaged package). We will work closely with the carrier to locate the package or file an insurance claim and arrange for the repair or replacement of the item. Your satisfaction is our priority – we'll use our best efforts to remedy any shipping issue as quickly as possible.
For over four decades, the Bensel family has stood behind every piece that leaves our Yuma workshop—and that commitment extends far beyond the moment you walk out our door. We want you to treasure your Paul Bensel jewelry for generations, which is why we offer one of the most generous satisfaction policies in the jewelry industry.
30-Day Full Refund Promise: Return any unaltered, unworn piece in original condition within 30 days for a complete refund to your original payment method. We simply ask that you include all original packaging, reports, and documentation—the same care we put into presenting your piece initially.
90-Day Exchange & Store Credit: Within 90 days, exchange your piece or convert it to store credit (which never expires) for any unworn item in its original condition. This extended window reflects our confidence that you'll love what our craftspeople create, while giving you flexibility for life's changing circumstances.
Family Promise: When Paul Bensel founded our company in 1980, he built it on the principle that standing behind your work isn't just good business—it's family honor and simply the right thing to do. That integrity commitment continues today under the second generation of Bensel's leadership.
Certain categories represent investments in truly personalized craftsmanship that cannot be replicated for another customer. Understanding these distinctions helps you make confident purchasing decisions:
Custom-Designed Jewelry: When our team of jewelers creates a piece specifically for your vision, story, and specifications, they're crafting something that exists nowhere else in the world. These one-of-a-kind treasures reflect your personal journey and cannot be recreated for someone else.
Modified & Personalized Pieces: Once we've sized a ring to your finger, added your chosen engraving, or altered a piece to your specifications, it becomes uniquely yours—part of your personal story that no one else can wear.
Special Orders: Non-inventory pieces we source or create specifically for you represent dedicated resources and relationships with our trusted suppliers. These carefully curated selections are chosen with your specific needs in mind.
Completed Layaway Programs: Once you've secured your dream piece through our interest-free layaway program, it represents your completed journey from initial vision to final ownership.
Investment Perspective: Think of custom and personalized pieces like commissioning a portrait artist—the finished work belongs uniquely to you because it was created specifically for your vision and specifications.
Local Customers: Visit our Yuma showroom with your receipt during the appropriate return window. We'll inspect the piece with the same attention to detail we applied when creating it, then process your refund or exchange immediately.
Distant Customers: Contact us by phone or email within your return window, and we'll guide you through our secure return shipping process. Pack your piece safely (preferably in original packaging) with full insurance coverage—we want it to travel as securely on its return journey as it did reaching you initially.
Once we receive your return, our team applies the same meticulous inspection standards we use for quality control during creation. We'll process your refund or exchange within 2-3 business days and notify you immediately.
Craftsmanship Standards: Our return inspection process uses the same attention to detail that our team applies when examining finished pieces before delivery, ensuring every item meets Paul Bensel quality standards.
We process eligible refunds within 2-3 business days of receiving and inspecting your return—the same quick turnaround we pride ourselves on for repairs and custom work. Your bank or credit card company may require additional processing time to post the credit.
Refunds are returned to your original payment method and the original purchaser's name, maintaining the same security standards we apply to all transactions. If you don't see your refund within 7 business days of our processing notification, contact us immediately—we'll advocate with your financial institution just as we do with shipping carriers.
Important considerations for returns:
- Shipping costs: You're responsible for return shipping unless we made an error (in which case, we handle everything)
- Expedited shipping fees: Generally non-refundable, as you received the expedited service requested
Relationship Priority: These policies aren't just business procedures; rather, they're designed to protect both your investment and our ability to serve future customers with the same integrity Paul Bensel established in 1980. When questions arise, we'll always err on the side of preserving our customer relationships.
Ask before purchasing. Our team would rather ensure you're making the right choice initially than deal with complications later. That's the kind of honest communication that has built lasting relationships with Yuma families for over four decades.
Absolutely – we stand behind every piece of jewelry we create and sell with pride and confidence. Paul Bensel Jewelers offers a comprehensive five-tier Warranty Program that provides protection for manufacturing defects and even normal wear-and-tear on your jewelry, depending on the original purchase price. No matter the tier, all our customers receive complimentary lifetime services such as professional cleanings, inspections, and stone-tightening checks at recommended intervals. Our warranty applies exclusively to items purchased from Paul Bensel Jewelers (and to component parts we use in repairs) – this allows us to maintain our high standards of quality on every piece we service. All warranty work is performed in-house by our expert team of jewelers, so your treasured piece never leaves our care.
We have tiered warranty coverage based on the purchase price of the item. Each tier includes a period of defect coverage (for any issues due to manufacturing faults) and may include coverage of normal wear-and-tear (for issues like prongs or clasps wearing out) for a specified time. Higher tiers also come with complimentary services like free ring sizing or rhodium plating. Please note that there are two separate warranty programs: one for new jewelry and one for estate jewelry (pre-owned).
Simply bring your item into our store with proof of purchase (or we can look it up) and let us know the issue. Our team of experts will inspect the piece to determine the cause of the problem. If it's covered under our warranty (e.g., a manufacturing defect or wear issue within the covered period), we will repair or correct it at no charge to you. Essentially all repairs can be done right here in our on-site workshop. If you are not local to us, please contact us to arrange to ship the item to our store – we can guide you on secure shipping, and warranty repairs will, of course, be done at no charge. All warranty work must be performed by Paul Bensel Jewelers (we cannot reimburse repairs done by another jeweler). We take pride in our craftsmanship and want to be the ones to care for your piece.
We offer a full range of repair services regardless of warranty status. Our team has over 100 years of combined experience in jewelry repair and manufacturing, and all repairs are done on-premises in our state-of-the-art workshop. If your jewelry was not purchased from us or the issue is not covered (for example, accidental damage or wear beyond the warranty period), we can certainly still repair it – we'll provide a quote for the work before proceeding. Common repair services include ring sizing, prong retipping, stone setting or replacement, fixing broken chains or clasps, rebuilding worn channels, setting head replacement, and many more. We use high-quality components and take great care with every repair. Many customers tell us their jewelry looks better than new after our reconditioning work, thanks to the skill of our jewelers. Whether or not you bought the item from us, you can trust us to treat it with the utmost respect and care.
We highly recommend periodic inspections for your fine jewelry. Over time, prongs can become worn, stones may become loose, and wear-and-tear can take a toll on settings – catching a problem early can prevent the loss of a gemstone. We offer complimentary inspections and cleanings; for pieces purchased from us, these services are free for life. A good rule of thumb is to have your rings and frequently-worn pieces checked every 6 months, or anytime you suspect something (like a loose stone). There's no need for an appointment – just stop by, and our knowledgeable staff will professionally clean your jewelry and examine it under magnification to ensure everything is secure. Regular inspections will keep your jewelry looking its best and help uphold any warranty coverage by addressing issues proactively.
Our warranty is very comprehensive for manufacturing defects and normal wear as described above, but it does have some reasonable limitations. It does not cover the loss or theft of a stone or the item itself (we recommend obtaining insurance for that – see "Appraisals & Insurance" below). It also does not cover damage from accidents, misuse, or abuse – for example, if your ring is run over by a car or damaged by harsh chemicals, that would be considered accidental damage, not normal wear. Likewise, unauthorized modifications or repairs by other jewelers will void the warranty. If a non-original component (like a third-party center stone or an heirloom diamond you had us set) falls out or fails, that may not be covered under our warranty for the setting. However, we handle these situations case by case – our goal is always to help you restore your jewelry. We will often offer repair solutions or facilitate an insurance claim if applicable. Rest assured, we will use our expertise to make your jewelry whole again, whether through warranty service or other avenues.
We stand behind every piece of jewelry we create and sell with pride and confidence. Our warranty coverage applies exclusively to items sold by Paul Bensel Jewelers and to component parts used in our repair services. This ensures we can maintain our high standards of quality and craftsmanship in every warrantied piece.
Repairs that do not qualify for warranty include retipping, ring sizing, and broken chain repair when these services are performed on items not originally sold by Paul Bensel Jewelers.
Watches are excluded from our standard complimentary warranty program and are sold as-is. Due to the complex mechanical nature of timepieces and varying manufacturer specifications, Paul Bensel Jewelers may, at our sole discretion, provide warranty consideration for certain mechanical defects discovered within 12 months of purchase.

1. Concept Consultation
We discuss your inspiration, style preferences, and budget to understand your vision. During this consultation, we provide realistic cost estimates based on your material preferences and design complexity.
What to bring: Reference images, family photos for inspiration, or descriptions of the feeling you want the piece to evoke.
Deposit: A 30% deposit is required to begin the design process. Please note that this deposit is nonrefundable.
2. Digital Design & 3D Visualization
Our CAD/CAM specialist creates detailed 3D renderings using advanced design software. We also produce physical wax or resin models so you can evaluate the custom piece's aesthetic, proportions, and presence before production. Please keep in mind that the printed model will not have any diamonds or gemstones set into it; however, having a physical item to evaluate and handle, in conjunction with photorealistic renderings, is super helpful when determining if you love the attributes of the new design.
CAD/CAM Technology: Computer-aided design and manufacturing that allows precise visualization and unlimited revisions before any precious materials are used.
For non-local clients: Photorealistic renderings are shared via email and/or text, and 3D printed models are shipped for hands-on evaluation.
3. Collaborative Refinement
We review the design together and make adjustments based on your feedback, adjusting proportions, modifying settings, or incorporating additional elements. We revise the design until you're completely satisfied. Typically, each revision will be accompanied by new renderings and models for your evaluation.
Goal: We want you to have complete confidence in the final design of your custom jewelry item before the last manufacturing steps begin.
4. Master Craftsmanship
Once you approve the final design, our goldsmiths create your custom piece using traditional lost-wax casting followed by meticulous setting and hand-finishing techniques. Generally, every step of this process happens in our Yuma workshop under direct quality control.
In-house processes:
- Lost-wax casting in your chosen precious metal
- Hand-polishing and surface finishing
- Precision stone setting
- Final mirror finish polishing or texture application
- Quality control inspection
5. Completion & Delivery
Once the custom-made item is finished being made, we perform a final inspection, size verification for rings, and make any minor adjustments that may be needed. The remaining payment is due upon pickup or prior to shipment.
Timeline: Most custom pieces require 6-12 weeks from the time we have the first consultation to the time your custom jewelry item is complete and ready for pickup or shipment. Complex pieces may need additional time. Please share specific deadlines during the initial consultation for special timing accommodations.
How Custom Jewelry is Priced
The cost of a custom-made piece of jewelry varies based on material choices, design complexity, and alterations or design changes during the process. Our transparent pricing includes no hidden design fees. You're investing in materials, craftsmanship time, the collaborative design process, and the freedom to make any changes you want to the design before the jewelry is made.
Factors affecting cost:
- Metal type and quantity
- Gemstone type and quantity (mined vs. lab-grown, rubies vs garnets, etc.)
- Design complexity
- Manufacturing techniques required
- Quantity and complexity of design changes
Detailed Pricing Breakdown
We provide transparent cost breakdowns across six categories:
1. CAD Design Fee: Design creation and production of photorealistic renderings
2. Model Creation: Physical prototype for hands-on evaluation
3. Lost-Wax Casting: Transforming approved design into precious metal
4. Hand-Polishing: Taking the rough casting and polishing it so that everything is ready for assembly, setting, and the finishing polish and/or application of texture(s).
5. Precision Stone Setting: All diamonds and gemstones are hand-set by a highly skilled bench jeweler.
6. Final Assembly and Finishing Work: Assembly of all component parts and application of textures (if appropriate) and final polish (mirror-like finish).
Budget considerations: Share both your dream design and target budget. Our team often finds innovative approaches—alternative materials, modified techniques, or phased creation—to achieve your vision within your preferred price range. We can get very creative in finding ways to achieve what you have in mind without overspending. If the estimated cost we review with you is more than what you're comfortable spending, all you need to do is let us know that, and we can begin exploring ways to achieve a comparable outcome at a more affordable price. Communication with our team is by far the most important part of the custom jewelry process. This goes for all steps of the custom process, whether we are giving you an initial estimate or we are showing you renderings and models, it is imminently important that you tell us what you really think.
We frequently incorporate existing diamonds, gemstones, or precious metal (gold, platinum, silver) from family pieces into new custom designs, creating meaningful connections between generations.
Evaluation Process
Our experts assess heirloom gemstones for structural integrity, checking for chips or inclusions that might affect new settings. We may recommend re-polishing (in extreme scenarios) or protective setting modifications to increase the safety and security of your gems.
Metal Recycling Options
- Sentimental recycling: Use your current precious metals to create your new custom piece. This is referred to as a "Direct Transfer Casting."
- Metal credit: You may use your metals as credit toward freshly alloyed metals. There are many times when this will be the recommended option, and there are multiple variables that go into determining this.
- Cost consideration: Reusing your metals isn't always the most cost-effective method of creating your new custom piece. During the initial consultation, we can discuss various options to utilize and extract value from the precious metals you currently own. We will spend even more time on this once we present the estimated cost for your custom piece.
Security: Your precious materials remain fully insured in our vault when not actively being worked on.
We successfully create custom pieces for clients nationwide using your preferred communication method (phone, video, email, and/or text message) to maintain the same collaborative experience as local customers.
Remote collaboration includes:
- Phone and video consultations
- Detailed CAD renderings with multiple viewing angles
- Physical model(s) shipped directly to you for hands-on evaluation
- Regular progress updates via email or text message
- Direct team access for questions and refinements
Delivery: Finished pieces ship with full insurance coverage and elegant presentation packaging.
Custom pieces are non-returnable due to their one-of-a-kind nature. However, our comprehensive approval process ensures satisfaction before irreversible production steps.
Protection Through Process
- Approval of the renderings and models is required by you and us at each stage of the design process, ensuring that everyone is fully satisfied and on the same page before moving forward.
- There are no surprises with the finished piece due to guided decision-making and the approval process.
- We'll happily make minor adjustments to your new custom jewelry within 30 days at no charge.
- Comprehensive warranty for construction defects and some coverage for wear and tear (See warranty details).
Design changes: Once cast in precious metal, significant modifications require recreating the entire piece. Our detailed pre-production approval process prevents this situation.
Yes, unequivocally. Paul Bensel Jewelers is committed to the ethical sourcing of all our diamonds and gemstones. We only purchase diamonds from reputable suppliers who certify that their stones are conflict-free and responsibly mined. We are very selective about our sources – many of our diamonds come from site holders and partners who uphold strict labor and environmental standards. In addition, we have trusted partners that specialize in supplying Canadian-origin diamonds. Our colored gemstones are likewise acquired through trusted vendors known for ethical practices. You can feel confident that a purchase from us has been sourced with integrity and respect for human rights and the environment.
We take pride in the quality of our materials. Our diamonds are typically of GIA-certified quality with a focus on excellent cut (to maximize sparkle). While we can source stones in a range of grades according to a client's needs, we generally stock near-colorless diamonds (G-H-I or better color) and eye-clean (no visible inclusions). Many of our diamonds are excellent cut or ideal cut, which makes them appear brilliant and full of life. For colored gemstones, we seek out vibrant, well-cut stones with good clarity. Our gems often come with certifications or reports from respected laboratories when applicable. If you have specific requirements – for example, a very high color/clarity diamond, a lab-grown diamond, or a specific origin for a sapphire – we are happy to source exactly what you're looking for. Quality is one of our core values, and it's reflected in every stone we set.
Yes. We stay up-to-date with jewelry trends and client preferences. We offer lab-grown diamonds as an option for engagement rings or other jewelry – they are a wonderful choice if you want a larger stone for your budget or prefer the aspect of being created in a controlled environment. Lab grown diamonds are optically and chemically identical to mined diamonds and are also certified by gem labs. We can also source popular diamond alternatives like Moissanite (an excellent gemstone in its own right) or other lab-created gemstones. If you're eco-conscious or budget-conscious, these options can be ideal. We will discuss the pros and cons of each with you (for instance, Moissanite has different optical properties than diamond). Ultimately, the choice is yours – our goal is to provide the stone that best fits your values and vision for the piece.
We work with all high-quality precious metals. The majority of our pieces are crafted in gold (we offer 14K and 18K yellow, white, or rose gold) or platinum. These metals are durable for fine jewelry and have a timeless appeal. We also work with some suppliers that manufacture jewelry in 10 karat white and yellow gold, for more budget-minded options. We also work in sterling silver for select designs or custom requests, and we can cast in palladium or other alloys if needed for a special project. All of our metal stock is jeweler's quality – for example, our 14K gold is a rich alloy with excellent hardness for everyday wear, and our platinum is 95% pure (PT950) due to its superb all-around qualities and performance. We also care about the responsible sourcing of metals: we use recycled gold and platinum sources whenever possible and partner with suppliers who share our commitment to ethical practices. If you have a preference for a certain metal or have metal allergies (like nickel allergy), please let us know – we can accommodate with appropriate alloys. Our goal is to ensure your jewelry's metal is not only beautiful but also aligned with your needs and values.
Major diamonds (typically center diamonds in engagement rings) come with an independent laboratory grading report, usually from GIA, AGS, or IGI, detailing the 4Cs of that diamond. We will provide these original reports to you with your purchase, and they should be kept safe (they are required if you ever return or trade up the diamond). Significant colored gemstones come with a laboratory grading report, usually from GIA, AGL, or GRS. All our jewelry is accompanied by our own Paul Bensel Jewelers warranty (as described above) and an appraisal document if desired (see Appraisals section). The appraisal serves as a verification of the authenticity, specifications, and replacement value of the piece for insurance purposes. In short, we stand behind our materials: diamonds and gems are exactly as represented. If you ever have concerns or questions about a stone, we have GIA-trained professionals on staff who can review and explain all the characteristics of your diamond or gemstone.
Proper care will keep your jewelry looking its best for years. We recommend a few general guidelines:
- Regular cleaning: For diamond and most gemstone jewelry (without sensitive gems), you can soak the piece in warm water with a mild dish soap and gently scrub with a soft toothbrush to remove everyday buildup. Be sure to rinse and pat dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. For pearl, emerald, opal, or other delicate pieces, just wipe with a soft, damp cloth (no soaking) as these stones are more porous or soft.
- Safe wearing: Remove jewelry before heavy manual work, exercise, or activities where it could be knocked or exposed to chemicals. For example, take off rings before gardening, lifting weights, or using household cleaners. Chlorine (in pools or hot tubs) can degrade silver and gold alloys over time, so it's best not to wear silver or gold jewelry in the pool.
- Storage: Store pieces separately to prevent scratching the metal or gemstones. Ideally, keep each in its own soft pouch or the box it came in. Necklaces should be kept untangled (lay them flat or hang them). Keep jewelry in a dry place; avoid extreme heat or cold. If you have fine silver pieces, storing them in a ziplock or air-tight container can slow the tarnishing process.
- Cosmetics and products: Put on jewelry after applying lotion, perfume, hairspray, or sunscreen. These products can gunk up jewelry and dull gemstones. It's wise to remove rings before washing your hands with harsh soap or applying hand sanitizer frequently, although these won't typically harm gold or diamonds, residue can build up, and stones could potentially loosen with repeated impact.
By following these tips, you'll prevent excessive wear. And don't forget – we offer free professional cleaning anytime, so you can always bring your jewelry in for a deep clean that at-home methods can't achieve.
Yes, and we encourage you to take advantage of them! We offer complimentary cleaning and inspection for all Paul Bensel Jewelers customers (and we'll happily clean and inspect pieces not purchased from us as well). Simply stop by our store and ask – our staff will ultrasonically clean your jewelry, steam it, and lightly polish it, making it shine like new. We'll also inspect the item under magnification to check for any loose stones, worn prongs, or other issues. These services are free for the life of your jewelry. Regular inspections (every 6 months or so) can catch problems early. If we do find something like a prong that needs attention, we'll let you know and provide servicing options. Routine maintenance like this is usually very minor in cost or even free under warranty for pieces purchased from us. Think of it like bringing your car in for an oil change – a little preventative care goes a long way to avoiding bigger repairs. Plus, your jewelry will always look its best after a professional cleaning!
Bring it to us as soon as you can. Prongs that are catching on fabric or are visibly misaligned can mean a stone is at risk of falling out. This is a quick fix in most cases: we will inspect and tighten the prongs or re-tip them as needed. If the ring was purchased from us and is under warranty, prong maintenance is typically covered (see the warranty section for more information). Even if not, it's usually a relatively inexpensive repair. Do not continue to wear a ring with loose prongs until it's fixed, as you could lose the gemstone. Also, avoid attempting to push prongs back yourself – our jewelers have the proper tools to secure them without damaging the stone. We can typically tighten prongs the same day or within 1-2 days, depending on workload. This kind of maintenance is part of normal wear-and-tear, especially for rings worn every day, so it's nothing to worry about – just part of keeping your ring secure over a lifetime.
Yes. Over time, jewelry can develop small scratches or the finish can become dull (especially on rings due to regular wear). We offer polishing and refinishing services to restore your jewelry's original luster. For example, white gold rings can be re-polished and rhodium plated to regain their bright white shine (we actually include one free rhodium plating with certain warranty tiers). We can polish out scratches on gold or platinum and reapply brushed or satin finishes on request. If your piece had an antiqued (blackened) detail or other special texture, we can refresh those too. Our jewelry reconditioning service can make a decades-old heirloom look like new without compromising its character – we routinely restore engagement rings and other pieces that have seen a lifetime of love. Refinishing services may be complimentary or discounted under warranty for pieces purchased from us (depending on tier) or available for a reasonable fee. Talk to us about what level of restoration you'd like, and we'll tailor the work accordingly. Seeing a beloved piece regain its former glory is one of our greatest joys.
Absolutely. We specialize not only in creating new custom designs but also in revitalizing cherished heirlooms. During an evaluation, we'll examine your heirloom jewelry and discuss what can be done: perhaps tightening or replacing stones, rebuilding worn channels or prongs, soldering breaks, and giving it a thorough cleaning and polish. We have brought generations-old rings and jewelry back to life for clients, often preserving the original stones and design while reinforcing them for another generation of wear. In some cases, if a piece is beyond safe wear in its current form, we might suggest redesigning it (for example, using the gemstones to create a new piece of jewelry that echoes the original). We provide complimentary assessments of heirloom jewelry – we'll give you an honest opinion of what work is needed, along with possible preventive maintenance, and the cost, so you can decide what makes sense. The sentimental value of heirloom jewelry is priceless, and we treat such projects with great care and reverence. The result can be astonishing – clients often say their jewelry looks even more stunning than when it was new, thanks to our modern techniques and exceptionally skilled jewelers.
Yes, ring sizing is one of our most common and straightforward services. We have the capability to resize rings up or down to achieve the perfect fit, and all such work is done by our skilled bench jewelers on-site. In many cases, we can offer express service, which guarantees completion within three business days or less. We work in all precious metals – gold, platinum, silver – and will ensure the ring's structure remains strong after sizing (and if it won't, will discuss this with you before performing the sizing so that everyone is on the same page). Whether you purchased the ring from us or elsewhere, we can size it. If the ring was purchased from us, note that under our warranty program, many rings come with one complimentary sizing within the first year or more (depending on the warranty tier). We'll let you know at purchase if your ring qualifies for a free resizing. Otherwise, our pricing for ring sizing is very reasonable and depends on the metal and how many sizes up or down we're going. We always evaluate the ring first to confirm the best method (cutting and re-soldering vs. stretching, etc.), and we'll give you a quote and timeframe upfront.
Professional In-Store Sizing is always our recommended first choice. Our experienced jewelry professionals will accurately measure your finger using specialized tools in just a few minutes, completely free of charge. This method eliminates guesswork and ensures the perfect fit from the start.
Free Ring Sizing Kit for those planning a surprise or unable to visit in person. We provide a complimentary at-home sizing solution that includes a convenient zip-tie style ring sizer and an informational pamphlet with expert guidance from our master jewelers. [Order your kit here] and have it delivered directly to your home at no cost.
Ring Sizing Kit Contents: Easy-to-use adjustable ring sizer plus detailed instructions developed by our team to help you get the most accurate measurement possible at home.
Alternative Methods include using an existing ring from the intended finger as a reference point. However, we recommend this only as a backup option, as finger size can vary significantly between different fingers.
Expert Reassurance: Ring sizing for surprise proposals doesn't need to create stress. Our decades of experience have taught us that slight adjustments are completely normal—in fact, many engagement rings require minor resizing after the proposal. We include 1-2 complimentary resizing for rings purchased from us (coverage varies by warranty tier, typically 1-5 years), making post-proposal adjustments seamless.
Professional Tip: When estimating size, slightly larger is often preferable to slightly smaller, as most rings can be sized down more easily than up. Our team can also provide educated estimates based on physical characteristics such as height and weight; however, there is no substitute for working with a professional to determine one’s finger size.
For many purchases, yes. As part of our warranty and service commitment, we include one complimentary sizing within the first year for rings above certain price points. (Typically, if your ring falls under our Enhanced Warranty tier or above – i.e., the purchase price of $1,000 or more – you get a free resizing within the first year.) We'll remind you of this benefit at the time of purchase. Our goal is to ensure you have a perfect fit. Note that very complex rings (for example, full-eternity bands with stones all around) may pose extreme difficulty in sizing; in such cases, we would have discussed ordering the exact size or remaking it if needed. Also, our free sizing offer covers a typical size adjustment (usually up to 2 sizes up or down for most rings) – extreme changes might require more work or even remaking the ring. We will advise you on the best approach. But rest assured, for the vast majority of rings, getting that first size adjustment is on us.
Often, not long at all. We perform all sizings in-house, so there's no lengthy send-out. In most cases, for rings recently purchased from us, we ask for a few days to be safe. During peak times (holidays, etc.) or for intricate rings (for example, with many side stones that need resetting after resizing), it could take up to three weeks. We'll let you know how long the sizing will take to complete when you bring it in. If you need it urgently (say you're only in town for a day, or a wedding is this weekend), please tell us – we offer express services that guarantee completion within three business days or less. Our flexibility and on-site workshop often allow us to prioritize jobs when necessary. Quality is key, though, so we won't rush a job if it might compromise the outcome. We'll communicate openly about the timeframe. For most work that we do, wait times range from 1 to 3 weeks. Again, if you need the sizing completed sooner, please let us know, and we can discuss express service or other accommodations.
Most rings can be resized, but there are a few exceptions. Rings with gemstones set all the way around (full eternity bands) or very ornate continuous patterns can be quite difficult to resize without disrupting the design. In those cases, sometimes the ring needs to be remade in a new size rather than traditionally resized. Certain tension-set rings (where the stone is held by pressure) also may not handle resizing well. We will advise if a ring is not resizable at the time of purchase or consultation. If you have a ring that cannot be resized, don't worry – we have solutions. We could insert sizing beads, a butterfly sizing assistant, or a ring guard to adjust the fit slightly or remake/reorder the ring in the correct size if needed. Another example: non-precious metals (or alternative metals/materials) such as stainless steel, titanium, tungsten, tantalum, cobalt, and ceramic bands usually cannot be resized by traditional methods. For those, we often have to exchange the ring for a different size if it's a style we carry, or use an alternative method. Our staff will guide you on the options. In summary, most gold, platinum, or silver rings we deal with are absolutely resizable. For the few that aren't, we will have discussed sizing upfront or will find another way to make it fit perfectly.
Yes – beyond rings, we can adjust bracelet or necklace lengths, etc. We commonly shorten chains or bracelets to fit your preference (and we often do this for free at the time of purchase or under warranty, depending on the purchase price of the item [see warranty information for more details]). We can add or remove links from chain bracelets, adjust the length of a necklace, or convert post earrings to dangles and vice versa. If you need a bracelet made larger, we can often attach additional matching links or a chain extension (charges may apply for added material). For watches that were purchased from us, we remove or add links for sizing. We also do professional re-stringing of pearl or bead necklaces to your desired length. Essentially, if it's a physical adjustment to make your jewelry fit or function better, we have the tools and expertise to handle it.
Absolutely. We offer engraving services for many items – from inscriptions inside engagement rings and wedding bands (popular for wedding dates or messages) to engraving pendants, ID bracelets, etc. We have both laser and diamond-tip machine engraving capabilities, depending on the style and font you want. Just let us know what you'd like to engrave (text, symbols, pictures, etc.), and we'll confirm if the jewelry can accommodate it (most flat or inside surfaces can, however, this will mostly depend on surface area relative to what is desired). Engraving is often done at a small additional charge, and it usually adds a couple of days to the timeframe. We can also engrave custom designs or logos given suitable space. Aside from engraving, we can do other alterations like changing earring backs (for example, converting pierced earrings to clip-on, or vice versa), swapping out a clasp on a chain to a different style, or customizing a pendant's bail to fit a thicker chain. If there's something you want modified on an item of jewelry, just ask. Since we do all repair and modification work in-house, we’re quite capable of making adjustments and should be able to accommodate most requests.
Yes, we offer professional jewelry appraisal services. We have GIA-educated professionals on staff who are qualified to evaluate and appraise all types of jewelry, diamonds, and gemstones. An appraisal is a detailed document describing your item and giving an insurance replacement value. We strongly recommend getting appraisals for valuable pieces (especially engagement rings, diamond jewelry, heirlooms, etc.) for insurance purposes. For any engagement ring or fine jewelry purchase over $1,000 from us, we can provide a complimentary insurance appraisal report upon request. This report includes all relevant details (diamond grades, gemstone information, metal type, etc.), often with a photograph of the piece. If you need an item appraised that you already own or that wasn't purchased from us, we're happy to do that too – appraisal fees depend on the complexity of the piece, but we will quote you upfront. We also perform estate evaluations and appraisals, fair market/private party valuations, and liquidation/cash evaluations if you require those for estate planning or sales. Additionally, we offer a complimentary verbal appraisal or evaluation if you're simply curious about an item's value or unsure if it warrants a formal appraisal. This free consultation can help you decide if you need the full written report.
An appraisal is important primarily for insurance. Insurance companies typically require a recent appraisal in order to provide coverage on a valuable jewelry item. The appraisal ensures that if the item is lost, stolen, or damaged beyond repair, you have documentation of its characteristics and value so that the item can be replaced in kind. Our appraisals include: a detailed description of the item, the quality grades of any diamonds or major gems, the measurements of stones, and notes on any hallmarks or designer/manufacturer, if relevant. We also state the purpose of the appraisal (e.g., Insurance Replacement Value) and the value in USD. We sign the document and include our appraiser's credentials. Our appraisals also have a high-resolution color photograph of the item for identification. Insurance Replacement Value is often higher than the purchase price for new items because it reflects the cost to replace the item in the current market (accounting for possible fluctuations in metal/diamond prices or one-off custom nature). We recommend updating appraisals every few years, as values can change (for instance, the price of gold or diamonds may increase/decrease). Aside from insurance, appraisals can be used for estate distribution, tax/asset purposes, or reselling. We tailor the appraisal to its intended use – let us know why you need it, and we'll make sure it meets the requirements.
While we (the jewelry store) do not directly insure jewelry, we assist our customers in obtaining jewelry insurance. We almost exclusively recommend Zillion nowadays because of how incredibly easy it is to get the insurance policy as well as file a claim and have jewelry replaced. The streamlined process and exceptional customer service make Zillion our top choice for protecting your valuable pieces.
Full disclosure: When you sign up for a Zillion policy through our referral link, we receive a small one-time referral fee (typically $1-$20). We recommend Zillion because we genuinely believe it's the best option for our clients—the referral fee is simply a nice bonus that helps support our ability to provide this service at no cost to you.
For us to assist you with getting insurance through Zillion, one of two criteria must be met:
- The item was purchased from us, or
- We wrote an appraisal within the last 24 months
When either criterion is met, we'll send you a text message with a direct link to Zillion. Once you click the link, it takes you straight to Zillion, where you simply follow the prompts—it's a super clean process that typically takes just minutes to complete. All your jewelry details and documentation are already integrated, so there's no paperwork hassle or back-and-forth.
Zillion offers comprehensive coverage for loss, theft, damage, mysterious disappearance, and more. Many of our customers find tremendous peace of mind in having a dedicated jewelry insurance policy, especially for engagement rings or sentimental pieces.
What sets Zillion apart is their claims process—if you ever need to file a claim (we hope you don't, but life happens), their replacement and repair process is exceptionally smooth and customer-friendly. The same streamlined approach that makes getting coverage easy also makes resolving claims remarkably straightforward.
Alternative options are available if Zillion doesn't meet your specific needs—we can guide you to Jewelers Mutual Insurance Group or help you add a rider to your homeowner's or renter's insurance. However, most clients find Zillion's specialized jewelry focus and streamlined experience far superior.
Our commitment extends well beyond the sale. Should you ever need to file a claim, we leverage our extensive insurance experience to help with repair or replacement estimates and work directly with your insurer to expedite resolution. We're your advocate throughout the entire process, ensuring you receive an appropriate replacement or complete restoration of your treasured pieces.
Yes, and we believe in providing comprehensive documentation that gives you complete confidence in your purchase. Here's exactly what you can expect:
Natural Diamonds: All natural diamond center stones above 0.50 carat will come with a GIA report. GIA (Gemological Institute of America) represents the gold standard in diamond grading—this report serves as your diamond's "birth certificate," providing precise details about the 4Cs and other characteristics that determine its value and identity.
Natural Gemstones: Many natural gemstones we sell with higher values (typically $4,000-$5,000 and above) will come with either a GIA report or an AGL report. These independent laboratory reports confirm authenticity, identify any treatments, and provide professional grading that protects your valuable purchase.
Lab-Grown Diamonds: Most lab-grown diamond jewelry we sell with a center stone over 1 carat will have either an IGI report or a GIA report. These certificates provide the same detailed analysis and authentication as natural diamond reports, ensuring you have complete documentation of your purchase.
Comprehensive Documentation Beyond Certificates:
Detailed Receipts: All items come with exceptionally detailed receipts that fully describe your purchase, including metals, gemstone specifications, settings, and craftsmanship details. These receipts serve as both proof of purchase and detailed item descriptions.
Complimentary Professional Appraisals: We provide complimentary appraisals on all items with a purchase price over $1,000. These professional appraisals are essential for insurance purposes and provide additional documentation of your jewelry's value and characteristics.
Complete Documentation Package: Every purchase includes warranty documentation outlining your coverage, and all pertinent documents are organized neatly with your purchase for easy reference.
Protecting Your Treasured Jewelry: Keep all certificates and documentation secure—they're invaluable if you ever upgrade your diamond, need insurance claims, or want to verify authenticity. While we maintain detailed records and can often help replace documentation, original GIA reports cannot be reprinted, making your originals irreplaceable.
Our commitment extends beyond the sale—we keep comprehensive records and stand behind every piece with the documentation and ongoing support that reflects our four decades of integrity in the jewelry industry.
Yes, we do. We understand that jewelry needs can change – you may have pieces you no longer wear or inherited items that aren't your style. Paul Bensel Jewelers offers complimentary evaluations and cash offers for valuable items, including fine jewelry, diamonds, precious gemstones, fine watches, and precious metals. We purchase gold (in any karat), platinum, and silver (coins, bullion, etc.), as well as loose diamonds and gemstones. We're also interested in estate and antique jewelry, and even certain luxury brand pieces or fine watches. When you bring an item in, our GIA-trained staff will examine it, test the metals, and assess the diamonds/gems. We'll give you an honest market value offer. There is no pressure to accept – if you choose not to sell, that's completely fine. If you do accept, we can pay you on the spot (for significant amounts, we may arrange a same-day bank transfer or check as appropriate). A valid ID is required for any person-to-person buy due to legal regulations.
Some examples of items we commonly buy or trade include:
- Fine jewelry: Rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings made of precious metals (with or without gemstones). This could be estate pieces or brand-name jewelry. Condition doesn't matter; we're interested in the materials and gems primarily, though designer pieces can carry additional value.
- Diamonds: Loose diamonds or diamonds in a setting. We have a market for diamonds of various sizes and qualities. Larger diamonds (typically above 0.50 carat) are especially of interest. We will grade the diamond and make an offer based on current secondary market prices.
- Gemstones: High-quality gems like sapphire, ruby, emerald, etc., either loose or in jewelry. The stone's quality (color, clarity, size, origin) will influence our offer. We also buy certain semiprecious stones if they are significant or in quantity.
- Fine watches: We purchase luxury Swiss watches (Rolex, Omega, etc.) and higher-end timepieces, depending on model and condition.
- Precious metals: Gold coins, silver bullion, platinum coins, and even scrap gold (old broken chains, single earrings, dental gold, etc.). We pay based on weight and purity at current market (spot) prices, with very competitive rates.
- Rare coins (numismatics): We are knowledgeable in numismatic (collectible) coins and can make offers on collections or individual rare coins.
- Other valuable collectibles: Occasionally, we consider other small, valuable items on a case-by-case basis (for example, we've evaluated things like sterling silver flatware sets, though our primary focus is jewelry and coins).
If you're unsure if we'd be interested in something, feel free to ask or bring it in. Our evaluation is free, so you have nothing to lose by inquiring.
Yes, we welcome trade-ins, and often this can be even more advantageous for you. When you trade an item toward a new purchase from us, we can offer a higher value than the standard cash value for the item(s) you're trading. This is because you are essentially using your item as credit in our store, and we appreciate the opportunity to make a new sale. For example, if you have a diamond ring you no longer want and you'd like to put its value toward new jewelry (or jewelry-related services that we offer, i.e., custom design, repair, or reconditioning work, etc.), let us evaluate it, and we'll explain the trade-in offer. Often, we might offer, say, 10-20% more on a trade than we would in an outright cash purchase (the exact increase depends on the item and can sometimes be up to 100% more on trade). Trade-in is a popular route for those upgrading an engagement ring or resetting diamonds – you can trade in your original jewelry and apply that value to something new, saving you money on the new purchase. We accept all the same categories of items for trade as listed above for purchase. When trading, your item's value can be put toward any of our products or services (even toward a custom design, repair work, or an appraisal fee, etc.). Just like with cash offers, we will provide a quote, and you can decide if you want to proceed with the trade or not.
If you are trading in a diamond that was purchased from us, we will pay you the original purchase price on trade with a minimum spend of two times the original purchase price of the diamond.
The jewelry evaluation process is simple and transparent. Bring in the item(s) you're considering selling or trading. No appointment is necessary, but they are recommended. If you have a large collection, giving us a heads-up is a good idea so we can allocate time. One of our experienced jewelry professionals will meet with you and perform the evaluation. We may perform tests to verify diamond and/or colored gem type (natural vs. lab grown vs imitation), weigh and test items to verify the precious metal (gold, platinum, silver) purity, etc. The majority of this evaluation will be completed right in front of you. Sometimes an acid test will be required to verify gold purity, in which case the item will be brought back to the shop. Likewise, some gemological tests require the use of equipment where the items will need to be taken to where the equipment is located (behind the counter in our showroom). We'll ask you if you know any details, such as carat weight or if you have original certificates, previous appraisals, etc. If you do have any relevant documentation, bring it as these documents can sometimes provide valuable information and expedite the evaluation process. After evaluating your item(s), we'll make you an offer, which we can break down for you (for instance, X amount for the gold content, Y for the diamonds). For trades, we'll state the credit value. You can then apply that credit immediately to a purchase or, if you need time to decide on a new item, we can issue it as an account credit for later use. If you accept a cash offer, we'll write you a check for the full amount of the offer. We do require a government-issued ID and a signature on a buy/trade form and receipt (to document the transaction), which is totally standard. Most sales are straightforward, and you leave with payment in hand. We strive to make the process as comfortable as possible. Our staff is friendly and professional, and there's no obligation or pressure. Even if you're just curious about what something is worth, we're happy to do an evaluation. Verbal evaluations on a few items are complimentary. However, please note that more extensive written evaluations that take longer than 30 minutes to complete may come with fees if no transaction or sale of the item(s) takes place. If we believe that the evaluation may take longer than 30 minutes, either due to the quantity or complexity of the items, we will let you know this at the beginning of the evaluation once we’ve had a chance to look over the items. Any potential fees will be fully disclosed to you before you incur any charges. Aside from the evaluation taking less than 30 minutes to complete, the other way to avoid or nullify any potential fees is to sell some of the items that are being evaluated to us. The sale amount must be greater than the amount of the fees to avoid any charges. For example, if we complete an evaluation that takes 1.5 hours to complete, the cost of the evaluation will be approximately $375, but if we buy more than $375 worth of items from you, then the fees will not be billed to you.
In select cases, we might sell an item for you on consignment in our showroom, typically only if it's a very unique or high-end piece. There are other parameters we evaluate for deciding whether consignment makes sense, but please know that in recent years, we have moved away from consigning client-owned jewelry. If we were to consign an item for you, this means that we will agree on a price that you will receive if/when the item sells. We will display and attempt to sell the item in our store, and when it sells, you receive the previously agreed-upon dollar amount. This process can take time and is not guaranteed. For most items, people prefer the certainty of an immediate buy or trade. But if you believe consignment is the right route for your jewelry, we can discuss it. Consignment items are, by nature, final sales to the end buyer (as noted in our return policy) since the original owner would be paid out after the sale. We do have some estate/consignment pieces in our inventory, which customers love because they often carry vintage charm. So, yes – consignment is an option, but we evaluate it on a case-by-case basis to decide whether it makes sense.

We are closed on Saturdays from April through September and reopen on Saturdays from 11 am – 3 pm from October through March. We are closed on Sundays year-round (except the Sunday before Christmas). Any changes to hours or special holiday hours will be posted on our website, social media, and Google business listing in advance.
Our website showcases a selection of our offerings, especially engagement rings, diamonds, and some fine jewelry collections. We strive to keep it up-to-date, but our in-store inventory can be broader, including one-of-a-kind pieces, new arrivals, or estate jewelry that may not be online. If you visited our store and saw something that you can't find on the website, just ask – it might be available for purchase via phone even if not listed online. We are continuously working to improve our online catalog. Ultimately, whether you purchase in-store or online, you can expect the same exceptional jewelry and service. If you ever have trouble finding information on a jewelry item online, reach out, and we'll happily provide details or additional photos.
We are a family business, and we care deeply for our clients. If you have an urgent issue outside of our normal hours (for example, you're traveling for a proposal and something happens with the ring), we do monitor our email and social media occasionally off-hours and will try to respond if it's an emergency. In general, though, non-urgent inquiries will be handled first thing on the next business day. We do not have a 24/7 call center; when you contact us, you are reaching our actual store team in Yuma, Arizona. This personal touch is part of our charm – you'll often be speaking with the very jewelers who can directly solve your problem. So while we might not answer the phone at midnight, rest assured you'll get prompt, attentive support as soon as possible. If you need information at odd hours, our website FAQ (this page) and other resources might have the answers until we can personally assist.
