Ring Education

EDUCATION:

Ring Education: Metal Education - Platinum

  • Color: Naturally white, lustrous metal that doesn't need rhodium plating like white gold.
  • Alloys: Usually 90-95% pure when used in jewelry. Commonly alloyed with cobalt, ruthenium, or iridium.

Pros: Usually more durable than gold, hypoallergenic, doesn't lose metal when
scratched (only displaces), leading to potentially much longer life for platinum
jewelry.

Cons: Heavier than gold (although, some enjoy the additional heft), more
expensive to manufacture with, can develop a greyish patina over time (some find
this desirable, though).
